The Greatest Event in Television History is a Shot for Shot Remake of Simon & Simon

Last night I was flicking through the channels when I hit upon a countdown clock on the Cartoon Network. The countdown was for something called “The Greatest Event in Television History”. I was curious, but I was also tired. So I went to the DVR to see what it was about and it only said, “The Greatest Event in Television History” and nothing else. It was only 15 minutes long, so I hit record and went to sleep.

How can something I had not heard of be “The Greatest Event in Television History”? Well I checked it out today and found out that it was a shot for shot remake of the 1980s TV hit, Simon & Simon starring Adam Scott and Jon Hamm. Which at it turns out IS one of the greatest events in TV history! It made my week and raised my Adam Scott fandom level to fanatical. I hope you enjoy it as much I did.

This is fantastic, Retroist! I was very sorry to hear about Jon Hamm though…wow…what do you say when something like that happens?

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook and I was about to do a write-up for it but I’m glad you were able to see it also. It is very cool.

It doesn’t top the stop-motion Jonny Quest opening credits recreation but the effort put in to the Simon & Simon is very well done. I hope more TV openings are remade like this. It wouldn’t surprise me if they do.
