Eddie Cantor Comedy Theatre Featuring The Three Stooges (1955)


By 1955 Eddie Cantor already wearing the hats of actor, comedian, dancer, singer-songwriter was an established TV personality thanks to the Colgate Comedy Hour. Eddie Cantor already 63 years old, suffered a heart attack after one of the Colgate performances and decided to take it a bit easier. NBC debuted the Eddie Cantor Comedy Theatre in 1955 and the format of the show didn’t catch on with the TV audiences of the time, sometimes Eddie would play a character on his program and other times he was merely the announcer. But even though it lasted only one season at least it brought the comedy legend together with the legendary Three Stooges!
