Insert Konami Video Games Into the Nintendo Entertainment System and Play Your Heart Out

Konami made some great games. In fact I think I loved every game listed in this ad. They are still one of those companies who knows how to make a decent game nowadays, I just wish they would go back to “Play Your Heart Out” as a catch phrase.

  1. Out of all the games on the Konami brochure, Stinger is the only game I don’t own, however I have played it. Pretty awesome side scrolling shooter and very colorful from what I recall. As for them all being great games, Top Gun isn’t exactly a winner in my book, not horrible, but not great.

  2. Lest we forget, Konami also published under the name Ultra Games due to limits of number of games a third party could publish so they also did such classics as Metal Gear, Basewars, and the infamously difficult TMNT game.

sigh. Top Gun. I would swear that this game sold at a 1:1 ratio with the console, considering how often I run across the game, but it isn’t even in the top 50 sales figures for the NES. It is pretty much doo-doo, but the rest are good, so I will replace it in my mind with Blades of Steel!

The only games in that pic that I’ve played are castlevania, gradius, rush n attack (although not the nes version), and maybe top gun (all flight simulator type games look the same, it’s hard to tell them apart). The track & field one and the basketball one I wouldn’t touch with a 50 foot pole. I also dislike the flight sim type games, so top gun is a no-go too.
