Creepy was an American horror comic magazine launched by Warren Publishing in 1964 that has gone through a few incarnations and is still being put out today. Back in the day it was an exciting title to pick up, because like Mad Magazine, it was a black-and-white publication in magazine format. That means it did not require the approval or seal of the CCA (Comics Code Authority). The anthology magazine was initially published quarterly but later went bimonthly. The most recent Dark Horse reboot is up to issue 8.
I am glad that Creepy is still going today. Hopefully it will keep the interest in the old Creepy memories alive and spur interest in collectibles related to its history like this Creepy Magazine Fan Club Button, which is being sold at Hake’s.
