The Abominable Dr. Phibes Theatrical Trailer (1971)

True this particular post might be more suited for Halloween but to be completely honest I have always found that Vincent Price’s stellar performance in the Abominable Dr. Phibes demands multiple viewing throughout the year.

Though until today I had never seen the original trailer from back in 1971.

Thanks as always to IMP Awards for the great theatrical poster up top and to deb4tlj for uploading this trailer on YouTube.

  1. I don’t know if you knew about this but there is an online blog movement called Creepmas. In retaliation for the Christmas season encroaching on Halloween, Halloween bloggers have decided to bring some ghoultide festivities to the first 13 days of December. I posted a blog about Gravedale High for that very reason and I think Mr Price fits wonderfully into that category, so great work and Merry Creepmas Eve Mr Sage!

  2. Merry Creepmas to you as well, CW!

@Daniel Th1rte3n I wish the producers and director would have went with the original idea for the sequel though. They had intended Count Yorga to be Phibes foil in the second film, since Robert Quarry was already cast for the Phibes feature. I don’t hate the second Phibes film by any means…but it sure seems to suffer from editing and some bad last minute additional voice over work.
