Thundarr the Barbarian by John Lucas

This piece by Joltin’ Johnny Lucas was posted on his Flickr page and listed as a commission. What an amazing commission. I have never seen Thundarr, Ookla or Ariel look so gritty. John’s work has appeared in funny books published by D.C., Marvel, Darkhorse, Ad House and Top Cow. When they finally do that Thundarr revival I hope they give him a call.

    Yes. Thundarr needs a reboot. We did a “reboot challenge” over at Nerd Lunch and Thundarr was the one I picked to do. This is great artwork.

  2. Is it just me or does Thundarr look constipated? Thundarr was actually one of my favorite cartoons when I was growing up, shame that it hasn’t gotten a lot of love.
