Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (Three-Disc 40th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

I am a sucker for Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. I watched this movie every year it was on TV growing up and since the advent of home video, I have been a dedicated buyer of any collection that comes out and the new Three-Disc 40th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo is no exception.

Here is what you get in this set:

  • Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD combo in double-wide giftset packaging
  • Over an hour of extras, including Mel Stuart’s Wonkavision, a brand new interview with the director
  • A new-to-DVD featurette on author Roald Dahl
  • A 144-page production book reprint filled with production photos and notes, and archival letters
  • A retro Wonka Bar-shaped tin box with scented pencils and eraser (yes!)
  • A limited time Golden Ticket Instant Win Game piece for a chance to enter and win a trip for 2 to Los Angeles, CA. That is right, wust like in the movie, five (5) Grand Prize winners will receive a very special trip for themselves plus a guest. In honor of the 40th Anniversary, 40 limited run posters of the original theatrical one-sheet will also be given away as Runner-up Prizes (details at the official movie site)
  • The movie looks and sounds great and would make a great gift for the Wonka fan in your life. So order up a copy and if you do win the Golden Ticket game, I promise I will climb out of this bed and join you on that trip.

I am not sure what it is, but something about this film just makes me so happy.

    Oh Yeah...that's why...
