Star Wars, Halloween, and Me

Dressing up as characters from Star Wars has been a long running tradition in my family.

This picture of me is from Halloween, 1978.

That’s me on the left as Chewbacca, and my sister as an adorable Scooby Doo. As the legend goes, my sister was trying to emulate what I was doing, resulting in the “paws in the air” pose you see there. Having a Mom who loved to sew and a Dad who loved taking pictures made for great Halloween experiences!

I’ve passed the “Star Wars” bug on to my kids. In 2005, my son dressed up as a Jedi.

That same year, his cousin dressed up as Yoda.

The following year, my daughter went as Princess Leia …

… and my son dressed up as Darth Vader.

Not one to let the kids have all the fun, a few years ago my wife and I dressed up as a Tusken Raider and Queen Amidala.

My kids are drifting away from Star Wars costumes. This year my son wants to be a zombie and my daughter wants to be Little Red Riding Hood. Oh well. Does anyone know if they sell Greedo costumes in an extra, extra, extra large?
