They’re here! On today’s show we talk all about the legendary horror film, Poltergeist. We talk about how it was made, the people behind it, the Curse of the movie, the controversy around its direction, its sequels and much much more. Halloween is coming, so it is a good time to sit down and watch a good horror film, I can suggest no finer film to kick off the season. Okay, maybe a I can suggest a few others, but this is a great start. So fire up those TVs

Just in time for Halloween!
I’m soooooo glad to have the podcast back! Nice show. I’m glad to managed to keep the commericals in. Interesting about the Poltergeist movies, I never though of them as “kid safe” horror but you make a good point. Why does kid horror have to be restricted to the Goosebumps books?
I remember them because when I was a kid staying over night at my grandparts house it seemed like they were ALWAYS playing these movies at night in some sort of back to back marathon so I watch them a million times but almost always comming in half way through the first movie and then falling asleep part way into the second.
Thanks Kris. I hope that if people listen to the show, that be the one thing they take away. Horror movies can be kid “friendly”.
I haven’t listened to this one yet, but thanks for doing Poltergeist. I’m going to let my 10-year-old watch it this Halloween (against my wife’s wishes…). My son and I love your podcasts – and he wants me to tell you that he’s your biggest fan.
Thanks Jim! I hope he enjoys the show and without a doubt he will enjoy the movie.
Never heard of Like Cola. Wish I could try it. Great show.
Another excellent podcast. These always make my day, and when they are horror related..even better!!
Thanks — glad you all are enjoying the show. Nice to be putting them out after the little bit of downtime.
Good job Retroist! Enjoyed listening to this at work AND on my ride home.
Great show!
Good incentive to pay the Freelings another visit.
A true Halloween classic.
Glad you guys enjoyed it. I had to do some pre-watching of the “trilogy” pre-cast, but I think I will be revisiting part 1 yet again before the month is over.
I saw an interview with JoBeth Williams in which she said that she was in the pool with the skeletons and when the take was finally finished Speilberg told her that the skeletons were real because it was cheaper to get real skeletons at the time but he knew that if he told her in advance she would not want to get in the pool.
