Top Ten Movies at the Box Office this Weekend in 1991

I did not get to hit the movies this holiday weekend, but I am pretty sure I did back in 1991. Here are the movies that were in the top 10 for this weekend back in 1991.

  1. Dead Again
  2. Child’s Play 3
  3. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
  4. Hot Shots!
  5. Doc Hollywood
  6. The Doctor
  7. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
  8. Double Impact
  9. City Slickers
  10. Pure Luck

Wow, I think I saw 7 of these films in the theater. To tell you the truth, I am surprised to see the underrated Pure Luck made it into the top 10 this weekend. It is not the greatest comedy ever made, but it is solid and it is sad it never gets the love it deserves. Still top 10. Cannot take that away from it.

  1. Doug says:

I saw half of them in the theater: Dead Again, Terminator, City Slickers, Robin Hood (several times), and Double Impact.

  2. I think I saw Robin Hood in the theater 2x. A lot of people like to mock the movie especially now, but at the time, it was really doing well despite its shortcomings.

  3. Just 4 on this list. Dead Again, Terminator 2, City Slickers, and Robin Hood. I still like Robin Hood…though I do prefer the classic Errol Flynn film if I was forced to choose one. Apples and Oranges though. :)
