Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-Ray (Spoilers)…Possibly.

Woke up this morning to read that more than few Star Wars fans…well…to be kind were pretty upset over the announcement of the news that with the upcoming Blu-Ray release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga there were a “few new surprises” in store. Why the upset you might ask? See for yourself and be warned if you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the Star Wars saga as these clips are heavy on the SPOILER.

Thanks to WideAsleepFilms for uploading this to YouTube.

Now that clip was obviously not Blu-Ray quality and WideAsleepFilms admit that, they’ve taken the sound from the upcoming release and synched it with the footage. This addition has been confirmed by Badass Digest though I’m still not 100% certain what we are hearing in the YouTube clip is what is on the Blu-Ray. I do not have a trained ear but this sounds exactly like Darth Vader’s awakening at the end of Revenge of the Sith to me.

Thanks to SgtSixPack for uploading this on YouTube.

I have faith in Badass Digest’s sources and think that this will indeed be added in the Blu-Ray release hitting store shelves on September 16th, like I said…I just don’t know if the audio clip up top is what we will be hearing. I do know this though everything can be made better if you add a Baboon doing the Vader scream.

Thanks to limelight4lp for that clip on YouTube.

  1. Atari Adventure Square says:

Methinks George Lucas gets his jollies highlighting whatever displeased his fans most in the incessant changes to their beloved (and soon-to-be unrecognizable) original series.

  2. The Retroist says:

Soon we will not be able to call in The Original Trilogy…

  3. mwentworth says:

Hmmm….yeah eventually I will be glad that I own the original trilogy on RCA Video Disc. If Lucas gets anywhere near it, I shoot first!!

  4. Paul says:

The solution is simple. Don’t buy these. Don’t watch them and they never happened. They can’t go back and mess with my original VHS tapes, echoing mwentworth from above.

  5. The Retroist says:

Has anyone seen the “HD” versions that were broadcast in Europe a couple of years ago? I am wondering if they were cleaner versions of the original or the “enhanced” versions?

  6. robohara says:

I have DVD copes of the Laserdisc edition, and that’s good enough for me. I own probably five different editions of the original trilogy on VHS, and there was a time when I would purchase any version of the trilogy on any format. If the originals are that butchered on the Blu-ray releases, I may have to pass … a decision that breaks my heart.
