First Look At Henry Cavill As Superman!

A huge thanks to Merrick over at Ain’t It Cool News for posting this first image of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel in the upcoming 2013 Superman reboot. “Man of Steel” is being directed by Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen) and stars Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne, and it has been rumored that Russell Crowe has been cast as Jor-El.

Merrick was kind enough to enlarge the photo so you can see more detail of the costume.

  1. The only thing I’ll say that I don’t care for…is that he looks pretty angry. I’m a little worried as Warner Bros. stated that in there next Green Lantern film they felt the film suffered because it wasn’t darker and edgier, something they intend to correct in it’s sequel.

I’m worried they are going to do the exact same thing with this reboot…I admit I want dark in my stories of the Dark Knight…but not Superman and not Green Lantern.

Have you noticed his emblem by the way? It looks quite a bit like the original comic book version, don’t you think?

I’ve had a bit of time to digest this now and I think I like it. The suit looks a tad bulky, so I hope it’s not as bulked up as that “armor” Batman wears now in the movies. And I agree that I don’t want Superman turned into a “dark” character. Personally, I’m sick of the word “edgy.”

No. Just….no. Why does the suit have scales ? That’s one of the big problems that I had with the so-called Star Trek movie. The suit was made from Superman’s blanket, not dragon skin. And the S symbol is still completely wrong.
