Vanished Videos – Sister Christian by Night Ranger

Okay, true confession time. Night Ranger is my all time favorite band and “Sister Christian” is my all time favorite song. So maybe the “Sister Christian” video doesn’t really belong in Vanished Videos. As a point in that favor, I have to admit that I never saw “Sister Christian” on MTV. It has all the hallmarks of a vanished video, though: interesting visuals (not scary, but thought-provoking), a story, bad logic (how does tugging on the cable make a whole amp fall over?), and a little trick ending. It also has a girl who looks a lot like a girl I used to date (you can also see her in the “When You Close Your Eyes” video). Oh, and it also has an awesome scene of the Night Ranger boys laughing uproariously as they throw a hamburger against a well. So it’s worth at least an honorable mention. Here for your enjoyment is “Sister Christian”.

  1. Great video, Doug!

While I was very late to the music scene in my youth, I’ve always enjoyed this song, I remember a fellow student playing it on the bus one afternoon. :)

It was also on the new Friday the 13th. On a side note, I almost caught Kelly Keagy’s drumstick at a concert, but the lady next to me ripped it away from me.

Great, song, video, and outstanding background for the scene in Boogie Nights. One of the most tense movie scenes I’ve ever seen.
