Saturday Morning Cartoon Preview Ads

Yesterday’s post on Saturday Morning Pac Preview Party (1982) got me really jazzed up for Saturday Morning Memories. So I started looking online at videos and ads when I hit this great photo group of Saturday Morning Cartoons by kerrytoons. The group is filled with great ads for some of the best lineups of Saturday Morning Cartoons. There is so many of them, I could not list them all here, but here are my favorites from the group.

You can click on the image to see the larger version on Flickr and I suggest you check out the group to see pages of these. Wonderful stuff.

    Great ads!
I’d rely on these to plan my mornings – and I did so with that very same ad on top! In 1975, it was Bugs, Scooby and Shazam/Isis for me.
I can practically smell the peanut butter right now.

  2. Wow! These are awesome! I still haven’t seen the Teen Wolf cartoon or Lazer Tag! This realing makes me want to skip out on work and go home and watch some toons!

  3. Most of those shows I remember. Even if I didn’t watch all of them I’d at least heard of them. However, I don’t know how I could have completely missed “ABC Fun Fit” with Mary Lou Retton! I’m am curious to see what that show was like. Time to do a little research…

I remember the friday night preview show. It was usually hosted by what was hot that year and I remember the one hosted by the live action ALF sitting on his couch watching tv. Those things were awesome and I wish they would do it today with the family friendly shows that play at night… oh wait there isn’t really anything family friendly at night.

Man I wish I had that 1984 ABC one w/ Star Wars and The Fun Fit Test.

Cool to see the Back to Next Saturday ad. That’s the other preview special I currently have my YouTube page. The only redeeming value to that (for me anyway) is that theme song sung by Blair. :) Damn catchy 80’s tune. lol
