Saturday Supercade: The Goose Rider By Steve Mellor

A huge thanks goes out to Shane Gline’s Cartoon Retro Blog for these wonderful scans of the first appearance of the fearsome…and incredibly funny Goose Rider! He made his first appearance as a back-up tale in the Marvel Tails Vol 1: Peter Porker – The Spectacular Spider-Ham, which also featured the Incredible Hulk Bunny and Captain Americat’s first appearance as well.

  1. This is weird, just yesterday I unearthed my copy of Marvel Tails to show my 6 year old son. He couldn’t stop giggling at the cover. Also, I think Mellor used to have comic strips in Marvel’s Crazy magazine (their version of Mad).

  2. I read through my copy of this comic book hundreds of times. It was brilliant, funny and totally cool, at least, to my eight year-old self. In addition to the awesome variations of the classic Marvel characters, I was pleased that my favorite character, The Incredible Hulk, was not re-named like the other ones. They just added something to his name: The Incredible Hulk-Bunny.
