If you’re a fan of vintage arcades, you owe yourself a trip to Musee Mechanique at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Not only does it boast an impressive collection of video games from the 1980s, but it also features a variety of games and attractions from the early 1900s. The selection includes retroscope movies, fortune tellers, a flea circus, mechanical organs, and mechanical games. To my delight, I found a 1928 version of “Rock Em Sock Em Robots.” It had a different name and the fighters looked more like silver people. Nevertheless, I like the thought that kids today are enjoying at least some of the same games that their great grandparents did. Robot on robot fighting is a timeless pleasure.

Thanks for your recent blog post about the Musee, we appreciate the exposure!
We went to let you know, however, that there is a new website run by the owner of the Musee, Dan Zelinsky:
http://www.museemecaniquesf.com
It’s a long story, but the old site at musemecanique.org is not run by Dan… we’d really appreciate it it you could replace the urls on your musee mecanique blog post with the new url.
@David — Links changed.
