Trailer Tuesday: Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark (1973)

I was just a wee bit too young to watch Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark when it first aired on ABC back in 1973, I did however catch it in the early hours of the morning in the 80’s on TBS while waiting to go to school…and it scared the bejeezus out of me.

Now in 2011 we are getting a remake of the 1973 version with Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, and produced by Guillermo del Toro. I had to admit when I watched the trailer below I jumped a foot out of my seat. I have high expectations for it, I mean look how great that poster is!

  1. Doug says:

Saw the preview for the remake when I went to see Paranormal Activity 2. Didn’t know it was a remake. I’ll be looking for the original.

  2. I TOTALLY MISS WHEN TBS USED TO SHOW B HORROR MOVIES IN THE MORNING. I remember seeing Devil’s Rain sometime in the early 90’s, and tons more. Interested in this remake, looks neat.

Jesus H…I friggen KNEW something was goona come at the end when she was lifting the sheets…and I still jumped 10 feet!

  4. @Lisa I agree with you completely, friend.

@Fraze Yeah, I know what you mean. With as many scary movies as I watch in a year I’ve developed the ‘Vic Sage Sense’, you just know when something is about to get scary…a quiet falls over the theatre, etc. I was still taken by surprise at the end of the trailer.

@Doug How creepy was it in the theatre, man, with the surround sound whispering in complete darkness? That trailer should win an award. :)
