Awesome. Can’t wait to listen to it. There’s very little about this show on the web. Next maybe you’ll consider doing Jonny Quest ;)

  2. VicSage says:

@John Hey, good call there, friend. A Jonny Quest podcast, I’d like to hear that! :)

  3. IQXS says:

(???) This is terrific, thank you…!
Promoting this on Twitter to our die-hard UFO/alien enthusiasts.

  4. Atari Adventure Square says:

    Thanks for this one!
A very rarely discussed show. I’ll join the call for a DVD set to come out.
We watched this show every week in our house, being insatiable UFO buffs.
Here in Eastern Canada, the show was indeed called Project UFO (found a 1978 listing in an old newspaper) but I do recall some title confusion about the similarity with the Project Blue Book inspiration.
Maybe some non-TV Guide PR used the alternate in some of the many UFO mags at the time.

  5. The Retroist says:

Thanks IQXS. It reall was a great show that people need to remember.

  6. The Retroist says:

@AAS I have yet to find a good explanation for the confusion, but with stuff like this I am willing to give people the benefit of the doubt on their memories.

  7. Vincent says:

Wow! Thanks for talking about this. I didn’t know it existed and I enjoy Dragnet. Any chance of doing the Gary Anderson UFO show?

  8. The Retroist says:

When I put out this show, I got a bunch of emails from people asking about the Anderson show. So now it is in the queue.

  9. Bill Bossert says:

Loved the “Project UFO” podcast. When I found out you were covering this show, the theme from season 1 immediately popped into my head. It’s amazing how something like music from a 30 year old tv show can stick with you! Hope you do get around to doing Gerry Anderson’s “UFO”…and maybe Space:1999? Season 1 of that series just came out on Blu-Ray and it looks fantastic. Keep up the great work!

Gonna have to add my voice to the minority report as well. I remember seeing Project Bluebook as the the title on the screen, or maybe just the first text that was shown in the opening sequence.
