I didn’t get to see Scrooge until it was a regular staple on TBS for the Holidays during the 80’s. I did however quickly fall in love with Albert Finney’s performance as Ebenezer Scrooge, and was quite amazed after my father said that Alec Guinness took on the the duty of Jacob Marley…that he didn’t look anything like Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars. There is much to love about Ronald Neame’s direction for this festive musical but my favorite song comes from the Ghost of Christmas Present, and with that my friends, I wish you one and all a very Happy Holidays!
