Star Destroyer Playset Commercial

One day the laser cannon from the Star Destroyer Playset showed up in my yard when I was a kid. No idea where it came from, but I recognized it from this commercial. It got used often in out homemade playsets.

  1. When I was a kid I never had this toy but I always thought it was super lame. It was like a third of the actual ship while other toy collections had gigantic playsets like GI Joe’s USS Flagg Aircraft carrier.

  2. I don’t know, TSA…it looks pretty awesome to me, friend. :)

    Now I’m not crazy though, nothing could reach the sheer amount of coolness that the USS Flagg possessed. I have a friend who still has that in a little room, all of his Joes are set up on it. It’s drool worthy.

    I’m with TSA on this one. This toy should’ve been awesome but instead looked nothing like a Star Destroyer. I half wanted it and half wished Kenner didn’t screw it up so badly. It’s not nearly as cool as the Flagg.

  4. These commercials look and sound so dated, its amazing to think that the movies were made at the same time as they look flawless and still hold up to this day.
