The Chevy Chase Show (1993)

In 1993 Fox decided to take a chance and gave comedian Chevy Chase his own talk show. The results were spectacularly bad. Chevy often seemed uncomfortable in interviews and the writing was uneven. I had been very excited to watch the show and I might have been the only one waiting for it to get better night after night. I have to admit, I was relieved when they canceled it, so that I didn’t have to keep watching and hoping for improvement.

Here is a clip of Chevy and late 70s co-star Goldie Hawn. The chemistry that made their films together so good, is completely gone.

One good bit did come out of it. He made himself up to look like a wax figure and stood in a wax museum and scared people as they walked by. Pretty funny stuff.
