1987 Red Lobster TV Commercial with Norm Crosby

My family LOVED Red Lobster. I liked the giant Light House glasses that we got to take home and the Dig Dug game they had in the lobby. I can just imagine that this malapropism laden commercial from 1987 sent my family into hunger convulsions, while a young me was confused why the old guy was using all the wrong words.

I grew up in a town with a Red Lobster, I love Crab/Shrimp/Lobster, but I’ve only eaten at a Red Lobster once in my life. True Story. I think it has something to do with the fact that it was kind of considered the Rednecks fancy dinner out where I grew up…was always a joke I remember. When all the people from the smaller surrounding towns would come to “The big city” for the weekend, it seemed like Red Lobster was often their destination, even though there were lots of actual non-chain fine dining spots nearby with similar prices and probably better food.
I do have a seafood lover in my, I just can’t let him out…or at least at Red Lobster it seems.
