Forbidden Planets Opening Credits Need to be Celebrated

I had Forbidden Planet on in the background today and it just hit me…I LOVE THESE OPENING CREDITS! The font treatment and the sci-fi sounds are so perfect together. They need to have an opening credits hall of fame and put Forbidden Planet in it.

I’ve always loved that opening. When I was a kid, I was sure that’s what outer space sounded like! LOL!

I love the curve of the title cards. It gives them a 3D effect.

Awesome! Haven’t watched Forbidden Planet in years. After seeing the credits, I made this for my desktop background:

Just center it on your desktop, set the BG color to black, and it’s like your computer is “In CinemaScope”, as all good things are.
