Half of the stuff that I find at Hake’s, I just want to get so I can frame the box art. Two things I like about this particular box. 1. This image of Tarzan is great, I think he kind of looks like Fonzi. 2. It has a chimpanzee in it. Who doesn’t love a happy chimp smiling at them. Look closely, he is definitely smiling.
According to Hake’s:
14.25×18.25×1.25” deep box contains set #2265 by Hasbro. ©1968 Banner Productions. Sealed set includes unusual sculptured orange plastic frame, large 12×16” canvas, 8 oil paint capsules and brush. Insert art features photo of child painting an art image of Tarzan and Cheeta the ape on vine. Paint-by-number canvas features duplicated image from insert. Insert has warp, but box remains sealed as issued. 2” split to original cellophane along top side panel with 1.25” tear to surface paper but o/w set remains tightly sealed and N. Mint as issued. Great large set. Scarce.
