I loved this show, totally falling for its obvious ploy to sell toys (as were many ’80s cartoon shows). I enjoyed the cool half human/half robot villains (literally – they were split down the middle), it’s where I learned the word “henchman,” and dug how each Centurion had a specialty: one each for air, sea, and land. I remember my mom telling me about the “real centurions” – officers of the Roman Empire (thanks, history major Mom!). I especially remember, though, that my grandma thought the sky Centurion – his name was, uh, Sky – was “cute.” Power extreme, Grandma. Power Extreme.
