I guess I am not savvy about the auto racing because I had no idea what a “chicane” was. So I looked it up and thought I would share it for those who share my ignorance:
A chicane is an artificial feature creating extra turns in a roadway, used in motor racing and on city streets to slow cars. On modern raceways, chicanes are usually located after long straightaways, making them a prime location for overtaking.
Kind of a good word to know.
This ad for the Gilbert Auto-Rama with Fly-Over Chicane is pretty awesome. You get to the chicane right before the jump which makes for some intense death-defying mid-air land changing.
