Original 1933 King Kong Jig Saw Puzzle

I did not like the King Kong remake that came out a few years ago, but I still LOVE the original movie. If I was a big time collector, this puzzle would be in my collection and probably assembled behind a case.

According to Hake’s:

9.5×12.5” envelope has RKO Radio Pictures mark and “A Scene From The Mightiest Melodrama Of All Time! King Kong Jig Saw Puzzle – Over 150 Pieces – Beasts From The Dawn Of Time..Loosed In Our World Today!” text. Envelope has large tear along top margin with remnants from tape repair. Tape repair remnants also visible along right margin and lower right corner. VG. Rare. Envelope contains 11.25×21.5” promotional puzzle made for the 1933 RKO Radio Picture release. Die-cut puzzle features beautiful image of King Kong grasping Fay Wray while fighting off a leaping dinosaur. Bold title “King Kong” emblazoned across bottom of scene. 1” margin at bottom of puzzle has technical information about film. Puzzle pieces show lt. wear along margins, but when assembled, puzzle retains a bright, Exc. display. Rare and only the second example of this puzzle we’ve offered, the first example of this envelope we’ve seen.

Now check this beauty out full assembled:

That is just awesome! I may not agree with you about Peter Jackson’s remake but no one who loves movies should ever not enjoy Merian C. Cooper and Willis O’Brien’s cinematic masterpiece.

If no one has the Turner Classic Movie 2-disc release I cannot recommend it highly enough, the documentary on Merian C. Cooper is eye-opening to say the least. For all intents and purposes the character of Carl Denham is Cooper…just a more shady version. A lot of love went into making this special edition DVD. :)
