Star Trek Toys of the 1980′s JCPenney Christmas Catalog

In late 1979, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, his theaters and was expected to be a huge hit. Perhaps one of Star Wars proportions. Naturally they decided to make action figures to accompany the new voyage of the starship Enterprise. A year later, it was the obvious the movie was not going to be a huge hit and when the Christmas Catalogs started hitting doorsteps, all we were left with was this sad reminder of what could have been.

    I think my Mom ordered me some of those! Along with Buck Rogers and Twiki action figures.

  2. oh i remember wanting to get that for christmas back in the day.

  3. When I was about 7, I remember seeing the Enterprise Bridge set up at some department store (might have been JC Penny). Even though I wasn’t a huge Star Trek fan I really wanted it (I think I was planning on using it for my Star Wars figures). But the next time we went back to the store it was gone :(
