Johnny Carson and the Potato Chip Lady (1987)

This clip of Carson interviewing Myrtle Young, an eccentric woman who collected potato chips that looked like things, is still one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, even though I’ve seen it a million times. A perfect example of the sharp, but ultimately sweet and effortlessness, of Carson’s humor.

About Brian Boone

From the middle of nowhere in the Pacific Northwest, I contribute to the Retroist, write for trivia publications, and blog about music in a humorous fashion at www.lovehatesociety.com. I feel about "Back to the Future" the way you feel about "Star Wars." Also, I'm married and have a child (sorry ladies, orphans).
