With all of the stuff in Pitfall Harry’s kit, eel-b-gone, frog away and the bat proof vest, how is it that he continues to get beat up by those very things in the game. To keep up the narrative, the things in his kit should be things that he never encounters in the game, boomerang-away and Shark repellent, for example. Oh well.
I am always surprised by how many people never played this amazing sequel to Pitfall! The game was way ahead of its time and in many ways was superior to the original. I remember spending hours trying to finish it. I even went as far as mapping it out to figure out the best routes.
Personally, I think this was the finest game ever created for the 2600. The amazing graphics and sound, combined with good gameplay made this the pinnacle of 2600 achievement.
