I have a sneaking suspicion that I remember it being funnier than it actually is.
I bought it on DVD last year. Your suspicions are well founded. Still brings the laughs, but many of them are cringe inducing as well.
I have not seen this movie since my youth and I remember loving it back in the day.
In school I would even make up my own stories to go along with the film and write short stories about the characters.
Hey I was like 7 when i say this film.
But seeing the trailer now, I think I would have a real hard time enjoying this movie now as much as I did back then.
