Was not sure what to make of “Ghost of Dragship Hollow”. I knew it was not a “horror” movie, but added to the Halloween Movie Madness III list because of its theme and setting. The movie is a story about a bunch of kids in the 1950s who drag race in the Los Angeles area. They put their headquarters to a spooky mansion were they have a Halloween party, dance a lot, get freaked out by a fake haunting expose a guy in a monster suit and then use the power of Rock N’ Roll to drive a real life ghost out of their HQ (seriously). The movie played as part of a double feature in late 1950s drive-ins and it really is the perfect drive-in flick. Bizarre plot, fun music, an unintentionally hilarious script and mediocre acting. I am glad I watched it, but only wish I had been in my car when I was. Oh and it has an awesome end title. Dig it…
Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow is available on Amazon packaged along with another classic “The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini”.
