Over the next few weeks I will be scouring the retro gaming scene for the best video game music.
Ah Battletoads (1991), another great game with great music! I love all the music in the original battletoads game on the NES and I found it hard to pick just one track from it. Surf city eventually won for its great build up and drop that really gets your foot tapping. The pause screen music did come a close second even if it is just one loop played over and over again… Maybe I’m the only one who digs it… so I wont post it…tough luck… no… I wont… oh OK here is the link for it and a special prize will be awarded for anyone who can listen to the full 5:24 … my respect!
Well till next time sit back, enjoy and foot tap like a lunatic the the 8-bit stylings of one of the best Rare Ltd games out there.
To talk (in length if need be) about great video game music, maybe disagree with my choices or just to boast about listening to the full pause screen music come and join us at the Forum

I’ll have to listen to the song, but I seem to remember liking Battletoads’ music. This game was hard as hell, though. It was a good concept, I wonder why they never made another one?
