“I Learned It By Watching You” Anti-Drug PSA

In the heady anti-drug campaign days of the 1980s a few classic PSA where made that really seem to stick with people over the years. Probably the best known was the one that most people call the “I Learned It By Watching You” PSA. I cannot tell you how many times I mined this for self-satisfying comedy gold throughout the 90s.

  1. I always thought that was a strange PSA. We have to conclude that not only did the dad do drugs but he did them right in front of his kid–and yet he is still shocked that his kid is using.

  2. No, the truly shocking part is the variety of drugs Dad’s packing – weed, coke, pills, all sorts of stuff. And you know, really, a kid should learn how to do drugs from his dad. Where else is he supposed to learn it, on the streets? From the MTV video games? Those fatcats in Washington?
