Pre-Cabbage Patch Dolls?

A good ten years before the Cabbage Patch Kids, Fisher-Price tried to launch its own pudgy-faced dolls with individualized personalities fad. Well, sort of – there were six dolls to choose from in this unnamed collection, a halfway point between look-don’t –touch porcelain dolls and carry-‘em-around-until-they’re-shredded dolls, and each had their own distinctive traits. Jenny (top left) is “wistful” for example, and Mary (front and center) “looks trusting.”
