Dan Akroyd and Tom Hanks’ “City of Crime” Music Video from Dragnet (1987)

I had a lot of friends who loved Dragnet (1987) when I was a kid. Personally I always felt that it missed its mark as both a comedy and an homage. If you have never seen it, perhaps this music video gem, “City of Crime”, will help ward you off.

Oh, who am I kidding, watching this video actually makes me think I need to see the movie again. It’s a beautiful train wreck.

Whenever Tom Hanks wins another award (which of course he will), he should be forced to approach the podium while “City of Crime” is projected on all available surfaces, just to keep him humble.
