DEVO Announces New Studio Album – First in 19 Years

devo

My favorite band DEVO has announced that they will be releasing a new album for the first time in nearly 20 years! The new album, their first studio album since “Smooth Noodle Maps”, still does not have a name, but is scheduled for release this fall. I know this release has cropped up as rumor over the years and we got nothing out of it. But DEVO has said that have recorded lots of material (that, they never denied) — it was only a matter of time until they released it. Now it is looking pretty official!

Perhaps those going to see some of their live shows this year will get treated to some of their new material. TO see if DEVO is playing a live show in your area visit the tour page on Club Devo.

YEAH!! ARE WE NOT FANS!!??

Oh don’t be ridiculous. They just released a new CD last year. Sure DEV2.0 had little kids singing and pretending to play on the videos, but it was DEVO on the instruments.

  2. Welcome back, Mark Mothersbaugh and the rest of DEVO, following an 18-year hiatus. What took all four of you so long
to begin pre-production on their latest CD and first Warner Bros. Records release in 19 years? Mr. Mothersbaugh went on
to pursue a career as a composer and techno-musician, having recorded the Spongebob Squarepants theme as well as several feature-length Hollywood blockbusters. But this new CD by veteran techno-satirical quartet DEVO is a jurisdiction to Warner Music Group’s flagship label as a recently anounced project for the foursome.

Devo did put out DEV2.0. Those were just kids though and they were actually playing the instruments. Devo taught them the songs. The downside was that there were no new songs. This new album is supposed to be new material…thus the excitement! Peek-a-boo!

Dev2.0 came out three years ago and had 2 new songs. Jerry came out with a record about a year and a half ago under Jihad Jerry and The Evildoers. I don’t think he did any touring or real promotion for it, though. Hope the new record is worth the wait.
