I still pick up my advanced D & D and play a game or two.

I had a Merlin (the funny looking red thing with the round red LEDs). Loved it-it had eight or nine different “games”. Well, some of the games WERE pretty lame, now that I think of it (Tic tac toe? Egghh.). Kids then used to be so fascinated by the most basic blooping and bleeping. Me, anyway.

I had that driving game… Actually I still have it , and I bet it works. I do not remember if it was windup or battery powered though. Pretty neat considering how simple it was.

Cool! What a blast from the past. I wanted the driving game for Xmas but got the alien invader game instead. I could get a perfect score on it by moving the turret all the way to the left and just hitting fire over and over again. Game over after that.

I had the Merlin, too. (Still do, altho’ it hasn’t worked in years) My best friend, who also had one, would play the intro to Steve Miller’s “Fly Like an Eagle” or a close approximation, on both Merlins, one held to each ear with a slight delay, for a cool stereo-shift effect. Good times!
