This short piece of video history is from Comedy Central’s early days when sleepy eyed prop comic Joel Hodgson still ruled the roost at “Mystery Science Theater 3000″. Comedy Central no longer shows station IDs, they are too cool for school and instead have slick tweener graphics just like their cousin channel MTV. Comedy Central may have changed, but Joel and friend are still around taking names and making fun of movies at the “Cinematic Titanic” (which might just be the best show you are not watching).

I wasn’t aware of Cinematic Titanic. So the MST3K camp is now split into RiffTrax/The Film Crew and Cinematic Titanic. Why can’t they just get back together ?!?!?!?!

Glad to hear about Cinematic Titanic. Did not know about it. Joel used to hang out with the CEOs of a place I worked at years ago, after he stopped doing MST3K. He was a very cool, but quiet guy. We never approached him though. I think we were too star struck.

It is a great show. No puppets, but the content is just as good as MST3K. Its like being with an old friend again.
