OK, it was bound to happen. I lost my youtube account because I was posting these old commercials. So now I need a new solution for my many videos. Maybe self hosting if I can raise the scratch.
Thanks to everyone who found this site through the channel. I will miss talking with you on it. Hopefully you will stick around until I can find a new method for video delivery.

Eh, just open another YouTube channel. This is what many others are doing.

You might want to try DailyMotion.com.
Or check out TubeMogul.com, which lets you upload a video once and send it to accounts at several video services (you have to open up accounts for all of them though).

Wow… Who would complain about OLD commercials being posted? There’s thousands of accounts like yours (mine included!).
I could understand if you were posting say… Episodes of ‘24′ or ‘Heroes’, but who’s getting upset over a 1986 Folgers commercial, ya know?

So, what is it that killed your YouTube account? These corporate coots need to understand clearly that we’re posting these old commercials for NONPROFIT, EDUCATIONAL purposes, and that they’re FAIR-USE. Not to infringe on others’ copyrights. It’s a free country. It’s free speech. We YouTubers have god-given rights, you know!

People just complained. I hope it wasn’t a user, but was instad someone from some company that made those commercials.
Its within their rights, but I thought since it was commercials they might reckon it was free advertising.
Well I will keep posting them on my own here for now until I can find a more permanent solution.

I second the Dailymotion suggestion. Sometimes videos do get pulled, but I follow many channels on there with material like yours and never have seen one get yanked.

How about Veoh, GUBA, or LiveVideo? Those aren’t as copyright-righteous as YouTube.
